Savory Turkey Brine and a GIVEAWAY!!

Last night, we celebrated Thanksgiving early, just for you guys! I partnered with Kikkoman so we could all have a "Kikk-ed" up Thanksgiving meal! The Savory Turkey Brine with Kikkoman Soy Sauce will ensure that your turkey stays moist while still bringing intense mouth-watering flavors to your Thanksgiving feast! I have never actually cooked an entire turkey before. I usually keep it small and just do a turkey breast. But, I ventured out this year, and made my husband remove all the yucky stuff! Thanks, hun! This was really easy to prepare and turned out great. Everyone loved it. The flavor was just perfect. My turkey was actually only 11 pounds, so I halved the recipe for the brine, and it worked well. I definitely recommend using a brine, it keeps the turkey juicy and flavorful, you won't be sorry!



Savory Turkey Brine

Ingredients:
(Recipe for a 16-24 pound turkey)
2 gallons Cold Water
10 ounces Kikkoman Naturally Brewed Soy Sauce
½ cup kosher salt
½ cup sugar
2 tablespoons dried sage
2 tablespoons dried celery seed (I used celery salt.)
1 tablespoon dried thyme

Instructions:
The night before roasting, remove giblets and turkey neck; rinse turkey inside and out. In a large stock pot or 5 gallon bucket mix water with remaining ingredients. Stir well until all the salt is dissolved. Place turkey in the pot cover with a lid and refrigerate overnight or at least 8 hours. When ready to cook turkey, remove turkey from the brine, and rinse well. Follow your regular cooking instructions. You can go to this site to help you see how to actually cook  your turkey.
