April Fools!

The teachers at my preschool have a wonderful tradition.  We draw names at the beginning of the year and bring in goodies to celebrate each other's birthdays.  Fun!  But sometimes we get tired of sweet treats.  So I decided to celebrate with more savory goodies today.

I cooked up a big pot of spaghetti and ordered some yummy lo mein.

And what celebration is complete without fries and popcorn?

APRIL FOOLS!  (Yup - it's all cake!)

On top of spaghetti...

... all covered with cheese...

But wait!  This bowl of pasta is covered in white chocolate instead.  Mmmm!   And the raspberry buttercream "sauce" isn't anything to sneeze at... so no losing these poor meatballs!

A Wine Lover's Cake

Chocolate cake and chocolate buttercream - I wonder what wine pairs well with that?

Pot O' Soup

Here's another cake that my daughter made.  She and a good friend came over to create this fun cake for another friend's 21st birthday.  The birthday girl loves to make soup... but she's probably never made a pot of this kind of soup.  They put all kinds of stuff in there - fish, broccoli, noodles, carrots, shrimp and lemon slices.  The good news is that it tasted just like birthday cake!  They even made her favorite food - avacado - and included a real avacado slicer and cutting board as a birthday gift.
